All the money collected will be donated to the Good Old Lower East Side (GOLES) to help those affected by the deadly gas explosion at 121 Second Ave. on March 26.
The benefit at Theatre 80, 80 St. Marks Place between First Avenue and Second Avenue, will feature “performers and celebrities from the world of music, literature and drama,”per the Facebook event page.
As previously noted, Sting and Trudie Styler donated a sum reported at $36,000 for the benefit.
There are a handful of tickets, ranging from $70 to $150, left. You may order them here.

How about just writing a check, or better yet writing a check to all the former residents of the Chelsea Hotel. If Patti loves NY so much why does she tell everyone to move to Detroit? I'm over her and I'm sure she doesn't care.
I'm holding my tongue Anon5:47. Hopefully they will make some money. Three things: real estate;celebrities;fine dining. Agreed-the Chelsea Hotel Patti Smith sings for the Chetris is inexcusable, she was just here at Webster Hall up on stage with Mario Batali and Michael Stape. FYI this event is orchestrated by real estate/night life/art/hospitality. It's like the Bloomberg/DiBlasio 80/20 housing plan.
