The last time that we paid attention to "Violet" filming around the neighborhood, lead actress Krysten Ritter was falling into some trash outside Sophie's on East Fifth Street (for a scene in the Marvel Netflix series).
The show — "A.K.A Jessica Jones" under the working title "Violet" — will be filming around Tompkins Square Park again tomorrow evening. Which you may hear about.
Several EVG readers shared this via Notify NYC today:
Tomorrow, July 7th, there will be a simulated explosion in the vicinity of Avenue B between East 6th Street and East 7th Street in Manhattan. The stunt will occur once between 6:00 PM and 11:00 PM. NYPD and FDNY will be on site.

Complainers line up on the right...
My dog still hasn't gotten over the fireworks, and another explosion right at our corner... Not NIMBY, just feel bad for the hound.
What a perfect time to dynamite open that bank vault!
It would be no nice if we could get a moratorium on filming around here. It gets annoying and I never give a damn about anything they've ever filmed. It's time to choose another neighborhood as a 'go to' spot for filming.
I agree with Mike Diaz. There will be a film shoot at Horseshoe Bar (or whatever it's called) for the umpteenth time.
Why they don't do these things in studios is beyond me.
I think these Hollywood B-listers should have to pay $1000 a day to everyone who can prove residency on the affected blocks.
I mean if Ross can get paid $1 million per episode, they can afford it.
Bill
Build another huge studio in Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island...and then park your trucks on a block with three dorms. Thanks again!
And those asshole PAs, strutting around, telling me (usually not asking) which side of the street I have to walk on.
Since I'm working late tonight, hopefully the hoopla will be over by then.
Anyone know why can't they do this in the post production phase--this explosion? Seems so many special effects can be done right at the studio...
Exactly. Most PA's are assholes. While they are merely doing their jobs, some don't understand we live on this street, and need access to our apartments. I pay a ton of money to live in my own place. Why in the fuck do I need to answer to him or explain I am going home? Bullshit. A young man made me stand on the street until a director got their shot. I stood for five minutes, befuddled and annoyed. It seems there are shoots on 7th on a regular basis. The crew doesn't give two shits about the residents. The noises, the trucks, the bright lights, and pretentious actors are too much. Alphabet City is like a hollywood sound stage. What is it with this street? Why does every production crew film on 7th around A to C?
Can these P.A.s, or any of their colleagues, actually do anything to you if you decide not to wait till their shoot begins or ends, and enter your building when you want to? I can see where they may have some say when it comes to a commercial business area, but as far as residential ones go what authority do they actually have, if any?
No, Conan, they can't. They have zero authority to stop you. They may ask, but that's it.
