Chest of Pleasure has closed on St. Mark's Place
The shop on the upper level at 31 St. Mark's Place between Second Avenue and Third Avenue has (seemingly) quietly closed.
Chest of Pleasure, which sold things like the (waterproof) Neon Luv Touch Mini Mite and edible massage oils, opened last August.
There isn't any mention of a closure on their Instagram account, where the last post shows the proprietors having beers in honor of their grand opening.
And a last look inside the shop...

Neon Luv Touch Mini Mite? Is that some kind of insect?
If they had taken my advice and gone with the much snappier and more intuitive "Pleasure Chest" we probably wouldn't be saying goodbye right now.
In the bottom picture: Now that IS a chest of pleasure.
Anon 11:04: there already is a Pleasure Chest™, with at least two locations; that's why this one was called "Chest of Pleasure," so they wouldn't get sued.
Hell yeah 2:51pm.
@2:51 and @11:56 You guys are getting worked up over a mannequin.
