EVG reader Jimmy shares this photo from 244 E. 13th St. between Second Avenue and Third Avenue, where Old Fashioned Pizza is in the works for the former Thaimee Box space.
We don't know too much about this operation at the moment or what constitutes old-fashioned pizza.
And to recap a busy pizza week: Bruno Pizza announced that it will not reopen down the block after a fire closed it last November... Pizza Rollio is also officially gone from Ninth Street... while Nolita Pizza has debuted on Second Avenue.

I wonder what is considered "old fashioned" pizza. Will be interesting what their take is.
I like it. Old Fashioned Pizza, a/k/a slices. The name looks like a dig at all of the fancy-schmancy pizzerias with the soggy crusts, either lack of adequate toppings or excessive toppings, with crusts that are way too thin or as thick and heavy like a Boston accent. Nicoletta and Martina come to mind, two of the more high profile pizza failures in recent times, who for some reason thought it was a good idea to serve the kind of pizza no one asked for. Neither of these places even came close to the old St. Marks Pizza with their amazing roasted broccoli slices, or even Pizzeria Uno, whose dumbed down version of Chicago deep dish beat pizza 🍕these soggy, heavy, overpriced pizzas any day of the week.
