Dave on 7th shares this photo from East River Park... where he spotted this stack of the mayor's rat-friendly, solar-powered Big Belly trash cans.
Not sure why they're here (don't recall seeing any along the East River Park in the past). The
Daily News previously reported that each
can costs $7,000.

Just noticed today, that they replaced (almost) all of the Big Bellies in TSP with the model that includes the foot pedal.
I rejoice.
Rat High-Rise.
Wonder who made the $$$ on those now-discarded trash cans? Everything associated with de Blasio is a waste, usually of our hard-earned money.
$7K for a trash can? Boss Tweed, that's expensive.
This is the same Sanit Comish who parked the garbage trucks on 10th. WHAT A WASTE... and it's our hood and our money
Ever wonder why there are at least 20 of these $7,000 each SOLAR-powered Big Belly trash cans scattered about the Union Square subway station? That's underground, a place where the sun never shines.
But the city does not have enough money to pay for a few $20 TreeGators to water recently planted trees that are struggling or dying due to lack of water.
And now this heap of discarded, expensive trash cans.

This is just the rats cleaning house....what's good for the goose is good for the rat.
