Terra Thai debuts on 6th Street
Terra Thai debuted last Thursday at 518 E. Sixth St. between Avenue A and Avenue B... and, given that they were opening amid the COVID-19 crisis, they were giving away masks with orders...
The owners returned to NYC from Boulder, Colo., where they had been running Terra Thai. They had planned to open up here in March.
They are currently just serving a few Thai street dishes, including Pad Thai and Basil Chicken over rice, for takeout and delivery. You can check out their menu here. Terra Thai is open Tuesdays through Sunday from noon to 8 p.m.
This Sixth Street space was previously Eat’s Kaho Man Gai, who never reopened here after expnading to the Essex Market.

So I am pretty sure that this Saturday, after I pick up my next loaf of Ali's magical bread at C&B, I'll drift over one block and try this place out. Since mid-March I've had exactly one meal - a pizza from ElevenB - that I haven't cooked for myself, and damn, it's time!
I am going to get something from them tomorrow, if I get money. The prices look decent and them offering a mask in a friendly manner seems sincere. I see many rude signs and it makes me never want to shop there. There is never a comeback from a rude door sign unless you enjoy abuse. So see you thaimorrow!
The owners are really sweet people and the food is delicious! I really hope they do well. Their Instagram handle is @terrathai if you want to learn more about their story.
I've been going here about once a week for the last several weeks and have loved everything I've tried. The people here are wonderful and I'm so glad to have them in our neighborhood.
