Fantastic news! This neighborhood is in a desperate need of a good Israeli-style falafel.

That’s too bad. Five napkin express has been my go to burger place since the pandemic. I will miss them. Their burgers and fries were delicious
Eager to try it. Love Mamoun's, of course, and tucked away between Broadway and 5th on 17th is Rainbow. Really good stuff. Wishing the newcomer Tamam much luck.
Bite (just east of here on 14th) has good falafel, too.

They are different - Zyara has Arabic influence where TAmam is Israeli and the chef used to work at a fancy Middle Eastern restaurant on the UWs
And they bake their own pita, plant based and organic . So you feel safe that the ingredients is good, healthy quality.
Rakka when they had the one on Ave B was the absolute best. St. Marks one meh ok.
Mamouns has never, ever, ever been good.
rainbow falafel is the best - hands down.
Had Rainbow once back earlier 2000s. Was terrible. Never went back. Should try again I guess.
Want to try Taim, Crazy expensive for a falafel. But that's the way these days.
I can remember when you coud get an awsome falafel for 2.50
Rainbow may not have the best falafel (I think Mamoun has tastier balls, though Rainbow is still much better than Chickpea or Maoz), but they definitely win the toppings and sauce game.
