Signage also promises toys, pet supplies, party supplies (balloons, much like the ones at the front door, and wrapping paper, not White Claw Variety Packs)...
Longtime tenant JAM Paper & Envelope closed here in January 2018 after 25 years in business. The company closed its storefronts in a shift to e-commerce.

The signage is sooooooo cheap and tacky. Really looks like a dollar store.
JAM wasn't in the space for 25 years; before that, as recently as, say, 2005 or so, it was a CVS. Good luck to the Dollar Store! Sure beats an empty storefront. Next, let's get rid of the zombie construction site between it and the NYU dorm. What's that at now? Eight years?
Went in yesterday. Nice people. Good prices on some stuff, not so great for others. But they do have a LOT of items. Worth checking out.
@8:58am: That "zombie" site is allowing some light & air on the block. I don't care if they never touch it again. Because if they do build something, it'll be another street-blocking round of construction equipment, traffic bottlenecks and delays for what, a year? No thanks.
Hooray, something taking up that space that isn't a bank or vitamin store!
