The answer is no. When it comes to remembering neighborhood icons the Preservation Society is only interested in celebrities and those with large name recognition not neighborhood icons. As for me my favorite icon who is still living is Felton Davis of the Catholic Worker.
I second the vote for Felton!
Has anyone ever attempted to get Jewels published posthumously? I enjoyed his poetry and I believe there actually would be an audience for a book of his writings plus ephemera (photos and other artifacts). He's very iconic of a time that no longer is.
