Dan & John's Wings has closed its first location, 135 First Ave. between St. Mark's Place and Ninth Street. Sunday was the last day in service here.
Management said they couldn't come to terms with the landlord on rent for a new lease.
Dan & John's opened on First Avenue in October 2015... and expanded the space to include a dining room in May 2018.

Noisy Buffalo Bills bar. As annoying as
La Tequira, the Dodgers bar around the
corner.
BOO!I passed up the urge to get wings there recently to opt for something healthy. I rue my life decisions.
The east village seems to eat its own creations. As easy recent examples (but by no means the only examples) Mighty Quinn's and Dan and Johns now closed their locations on 2nd ave. And those spaces aren't being reoccupied any time soon. The rent demands clearly outweigh the value of the spaces .. and it makes our neighborhood a lot less fun in the process.
Well, shoot. These were the best wings in the East Village in my opinion.
And the location on 14th street is completely obscured by the ongoing MTA construction, who knows how long it can hold out. Too bad, good guys.
No-o-o-o....Another example of EXTREME LANDLORD GREED! And I just passed their place on W14th Street completely hidden by construction barricades. Sad for these guys with a great product.
Claims of New York dying - what with empty store fronts(with tax breaks) and empty warehoused rent stabilized apartments what do you expect? Meanwhile big real estate complains all the time about losing money. Greed - pure and simple.
