According to police and published reports, law enforcement officials confiscated "100 pounds of pot products" over the weekend from an illegal dispensary on 10th Street between Avenue A and First Avenue.
The shop, not named in the media accounts, was said to be a newish space at 279 E, 10th St.
Per 1010 WINS:
An inspection at 279 East 10th St. was prompted by 311 complaints from the community, and upon searching the location, law enforcement officials discovered 43 pounds of THC flowers and pre-rolls, 30 pounds of THC vapes and 27 pounds of THC edibles.
The seizure was part of the city's "Padlock to Protect" program. We want to thank the community for being our eyes and ears for illegal activity throughout the five boroughs!

So when will they shut down the outdoor kava market right next door?
I remember buying pot from a storefront shop with a red door on E. Tenth between First and Second, back in the 1980's. That's when illegal smoke shops were REALLY illegal!
recently been going to real dispensaries- that stuff is fire.
Yeah that Kava crew is really audacious. They're brewing and serving that stuff from the basement next door.
I walked by Kavasutra today (12/3/24), it's been officially closed. BTW, here a Tripadvisor review:
“Avoid this Gross Place”
May 2024
"This place is awful. Dirty, loud, basically like being in a dive bar without the alcohol, but with a disgusting drink that makes you stoned. Gross."
Glad to see these type places being closed.
There are two here on avenue b close to Houston that need to be closed . However I feel the good people of the east village aren't really educated enough to understand what illegal activities does to the area.
They would rather go after me and the flyers I post then any real crime. It's a shame.
