In case you haven't seen it yet, photographer Justine Kurland's first retrospective is on view at OSMOS, the gallery at 50 E. First St. between First Avenue and Second Avenue.
The show, which opened last month, covers three decades of her work, from the staged photographs of teenage girls finding freedom and community in Girl Pictures (1997-2002) to images from her years traveling across the country with her son.
Also on view are works from SCUMB Manifesto, her collage series made from cut-up photography books by male photographers.
Kurland's photographs are part of the permanent collections at MoMA, the Whitney and the Guggenheim, among other museums.
The show continues through Nov. 21. OSMOS is open Thursday through Saturday from noon to 6 p.m., and by appointment.
