[Updated] On East Sixth Street, an impressive July 4 fireworks display
EV Grieve reader Scott Dwyer notes that last night around 11, residents of a building on East Sixth Street between Avenue A and Avenue B set off a pretty impressive fireworks display. Best of all — no Nick Lachey as host.
Updated:
EV Grieve reader Gregory Patrick sent along this photo from last night... looking north from East Third Street ... perhaps from the same display?

they were actually being set off from the south side of 5th street
So I'm guessing Drew hosted this event?
F*** those assholes; this is illegal for a good reason. They were playing with their fireworks for 3 nights in a row, in the yard between buildings on 5th and 6th streets, and I was horrified that one of these things would end up on my fire escape or in my apartment. Amateurs should not be putting others in danger, especially in such a densely populated area.
Also were shooting them off on 9th st & 1st Ave area.
