Now that's an offensive sign! I'm already imagining the crowd in IHOP on their iPhones staring at iPads and listening to their iPods. I-yi-yi!

I already feel bad for the waitresses of this forthcoming frat hole. If Lisa Ling wants to see real exploited and abused women, put down the sexy Taiwanese babies for a minute and visit an IHOP, any IHOP.

The waitresses will make $3 an hour on the books and their tips will consists of a few dimes left by the college kids who will hog their tables and torment them into the wee hours of the night trying to chew away the forthcoming hangover.

IHOP is slave labor.

Hi Ken.

Depends on who you ask!

I grew up eating their pancakes and have to admit I am excited to have one in the neighborhood. I am happy for anything that isn't a bar.

It's bad if you live in the building, especially the first few floors above it. The smell of grease and bacon all day and night in every corner and fabric of your home is nightmarish.

well, only if you live in a dirty broken old tenement. modern apartment buildings have duct work to convey fumes and smells up to the roof.

@Lux Living - How is what you described any different from any other server job in this neighborhood?

There goes HopStop's NYC SEO right out the window...

The venting equipment IS on a roof, but the roof is the second floor of the building. The whole back section of several buildings is doomed to get fumes and noise. Nobody is happy about this who faces the back.
