The police spotted him on First Avenue and 14th Street. They recognized him from the pictures and arrested him. Some officers stopped by the shop and let me know. They were pretty happy — I think they were looking for this guy for a long time.
Pugliese said earlier that the NYPD believed the same man had allegedly been responsible for a string of robberies in the neighborhood.

Guy robs stores for months, no arrest. Walks around free.
Guy robs Tompkins Square Bagels on block (owned by Gravesend Brooklyn native Chris P.) and gets arrested next day by NYPD.
Coincidence? Not. :-)
Ha ! Considering the part of Brooklyn I grew up in, if you'd have told me that one day I'd be completely surrounded by cops and detectives and they'd all be smiling and happy with me I'd have probably said you were nuts. Happy to help though.

"What would Rocco do?"
To reiterate my comment on yesterday’s post regarding this story: "Ahhh, the smarts of some criminals. Smile for the camera. See ya soon."
I hope this will inspire Gruppo to close their basement hatch! Ugh so annoying
Glad they caught the guy, he fucked with the wrong business!
