Just a post-Sandy blackout observation... BoweryBoogie noted this too the other day: an uptick in graffiti that occurred during the blackout ... a few examples...

There SO much more graffiti around. Such a bummer.
Grieve, it's really an insult to actual artists everywhere to call these perps artists. This is the work of vandals, petty criminals. Whatevs.
i think i hate the hipster "write an obscure phrase or compound word" graffiti more so than the illegible throw-up tags. at least the latter are rooted in nyc culture and history.
it's graffiti. i like it all.
