The Thai mainstay on Fourth Avenue and East 10th Street closed for good after service on Monday.
However, you don't need to go far to find another
Spice — there's one on Second Avenue and East Sixth Street and East 13th Street and University, among eight other locations in NYC.
The sign on the door points out that they are consolidating their restaurants...

Never could understand the concentration of these places. It seems that 90% of their business in takeout -- no need for 3 locations within a few blocks.
I ate there once.
The question is... What new restaurant is going in there? :)
I ate there regularly, and liked it because it wasn't as packed as the one near Union Square. Even the 6th street location could get quite busy.
Unfortunately, "not as packed" apparently meant "not making the rent". It was a huge space, and usually only a few tables occupied.
Food at all the locations is consistently excellent, though. Although recently the chefs must be in love, because the spices have been HOT HOT HOT. And I like it spicy but it was at my limit.
