From the EVG tipline... a reader shared this photo yesterday from Ludlow and Stanton, where city workers removed two four-sided benches that surround trees at this spot.
No word why these benches were deemed disposable... city officials likely wanted one less possible spot for people to potentially congregate as spring moves into the summer...
there had been reports of daytime boozing without any social distancing here in Hell Square central.

Are the two people removing the benches polices officers? Does not seem to be within their job title?
City is really good at destroying!
Send them (the daytime boozing congregants) over to Tompkins Sq. Park!

Eleven benches were physically removed (the park was completely shut down) on the East Broadway side of Seward Park. It was unnecessary to pad lock Seward Park (all they had to do was shut down the children's play ground). They could have removed every other bench six feet away at the East Broadway park. Instead, they removed ALL of them. Why?
That's funny!
