The response from neighbors ranged from annoyed to disgusted — not least because the field house only reopened last April after an 18-month revamp.
The reconstruction of the field house that serves the park included a complete renovation of the building's interior and exterior, upgrading all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Accessibility improvements feature reconfigured layouts, new entryways, ADA-compliant ramps, and renovated restrooms and maintenance areas. The mayor's office funded the $5.6 million renovations.
Parks was on the tag pretty quickly, power-washing it off the wall...

Hahahaha. Sums up exactly how I am feeling. I think it’s very well done too. Most people I know will get it and agree with the sentiment.
So disrespectful- and I don't care about the word, just the marking of the new building itself.
It's vandalism. Not art. Not even graffiti. And it's on the rise in the EV. The vandals are getting so bold... that last week 5:30 pm at the corner of 2nd Ave and 10th... a guy was spraying the closed Deli as people walked by. Why? The police don't care. The city doesn't care. It's the cost of living and doing business in the city.
I'm so tired of all this graffiti in the neighborhood on brick and glass. Paint the random walls and trash cans and light posts and dumpsters all you want but it's so disheartening when buildings and business are tagged. They spent months and months renovating First Houses and you can't even tell because all the buildings are covered in tags. It's disrespectful to the people who live there.

I love the colorful graffiti, but c'mon, this little asshole was too bold. How sad that we cannot have respected facilities without defacement.
If you are a graffiti artist, create art - something visually arresting or thought-provoking. This ain't it.
Imagine if quality of life issues had any police focus... if only.
If our AD his ADA’s & our judges didn’t release any and everyone arrested then maybe that would work. Allow the police to police but our prosecutors don’t prosecute. Vote them out if you want any meaningful quality of life changes.
