Apparently East 10th Street between First Avenue and Avenue A is flowing green at the moment, as this photo by @FashionByHe shows... not sure why at the moment.

Perhaps there was a spill at one of the two Juice Press locations on East 10th Street... the sight of this lends some credence to the theory...

I thought your readers might enjoy Rentenna's new NYC Green Heat Map which shows the density of trees in Manhattan, as well as the borough's biggest parks and all of the current active farmer's markets.

Rentenna ranks every rental apartment building on a scale of 1-100, based on a multitude of factors, including transit, amenities, and now our new Green Score which takes into account the apartment's proximity to parks and farmers markets. The Green Map takes it a step further by incorporating the tree density per block so renters can find that beautiful tree-lined street they always wanted.

And from the look of the mappy thing, the East Village is pretty green. Now if we could only get MORE parking spots for cars! (Bwahahaha)

Some photos of the new Cooper Union building that you may not have seen

No, not the one above. I took that last fall. Inhabitat has an "exclusive" look at the newish Cooper Union academic building. (Exclusive? Never mind the various photo essays that Curbed has posted in recent months...like this one...and this one...or these "exclusive" photos last fall from TrendLand...)

Still, the Inhabitat feature does have a few shots that I haven't seen before, such as these on the roof...

As the article notes:

Green roof gardens and terraces provide insulation to the interior spaces of the building while minimizing the "urban heat island" effect so prevalent in Manhattan. They also reduce the flow of storm water runoff and pollutants into city sewers.

Yeah, and some Cooper Union student totally has some weed growing in here...

Green...with envy

No, you're not just extra hungover this morning. The New York Post is green today...As the cover line says, the Post "is greener with less paper and fewer ads. Enjoy." It's part of a promo for planet green, the first all green tv network that debuts tonight at 6. (Reminder to self: be sure to turn on my huge, electricity-sucking plasma-screen TV at 6 to watch!)

Uh, meanwhile, the environmentalists at the Post included in this issue a 50-plus page glitzy Home & Design ad supplement touting "Living at its Best!" The lavish supplement includes all the luxury developments that you will never be able to afford...there's Ariel...The Brompton...The Harrison...Sky House...and on Pages 28 and 29 -- something called AZURE. Hmm, haven't I read about that place recently?
