A man was shot and killed early Saturday morning behind the Lillian Wald Houses on Avenue D near Third Street, according to published reports.
The victim, 35, whose identity has not been released, was shot in the face around 2:45 a.m. He died at the scene, per the Daily News.
The Villager reports that the NYPD are checking surveillance cameras they may have captured the shooting and a possible suspect.

A discussion on creating green space at the Lillian Wald Houses
The first 2017 meeting for Opening the Edge, a community project on creating green space at the Lillian Wald Houses on Avenue D, is tomorrow night.

The Design Trust for Public Space, in partnership with NYCHA will work with residents to reimagine the green space at Wald Houses. We will focus on connectivity between the development and streetscape to encourage social interaction and promote public health. The Design Trust plans to construct a prototype of the design, coordinating with NYCHA, in a second phase of work.

The NYPD is investigating a death that took place in the Wald Houses on Avenue D near Sixth Street.
The body was discovered this afternoon at 1:45.
Per ABC 7:
Police say that a 27-year-old woman was found dead inside an apartment ...
A source tells Eyewitness News that a friend of the victim found the door of the apartment ajar, with a trail of blood leading to the bed.
The victim was found lying on a bed covered with a blanket and a scarf around her neck.
And from the Daily News:
Cops have not yet classified the case as a homicide. The medical examiner’s office will determine how she died. Police have not revealed the victim’s name.
“She was a good person. Innocent. She has a son,” said one neighbor, who knew the woman from the building.
One EVG reader going for a jog in East River Park late this afternoon reported a large police presence near the FDR on the north side of Sixth Street, including officers in riot gear. No more details about this have been reported just yet.

Police have brought in a man for questioning, according to an updated post at the Daily News.

Though the medical examiner has yet to determine the cause of death, Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce said at a Thursday morning press conference that officers believe Brooke Garcia, 27, died of strangulation before she was found in bed at around 1:30 p.m.
"We don't know what the cause of death is right now — we're assuming it's strangulation, but that's conjecture at this point," said Boyce, who noted an autopsy on the victim's body is still in progress.

A 22-year-old man was found dead from gunshot wounds outside a courtyard of the Lillian Wald Houses on East Sixth Street between Avenue D and the FDR at 1:52 a.m., according to published reports.
According to the Daily News, "The victim was found with multiple shots to the gut."
No arrests have been made. The victim's name has not been released pending family notification.

DNAinfo reports that the victim was known by the nickname "Coke Wave." Investigators believe this may have been a drug-related shooting, as the man was reportedly carrying crack cocaine.
Said one resident who lives near the crime scene: "I'm hearing gunshots two or three times a week out here. No matter how many times you hear them, it's still scary. Gunshots don't have no name. It's like these guys don't fear cops or nothing."
The victim's name was Michael Rodriguez.

[Updated] Report: Man gunned down inside the Lillian Wald Houses on Avenue D
There are few details so far about a 33-year-old man who was shot and killed inside the Lillian Wald Houses at 20 Avenue D late this afternoon.
The NYPD hasn't released the man's name just yet.
Per the Post:
“He was a nice guy. He cared about his kids. I think he had two (children),” said eyewitness Jonathan Caraballo, 22, who lives in the housing complex where the fatal shooting took place.

DNAinfo reports that the victim was shot and killed on the sidewalk.

The Daily News reports this morning that the victim is Shemrod Isaac, who was shot three times in the chest outside a building following an argument.
NYPD sources gave the paper this description of the shooter: "a man in his 30s wearing a tan jacket, blue pants and multicolored hat."
The Daily News also reported that Isaac had a criminal record for unnamed drug charges and resisting arrest.

DNAinfo has more information on Isaac, a rap singer who went by Sham Da God.
Isaac, 33, a father to a 6-year-old girl and 3-year-old boy, was walking through the Lillian Wald Houses at 20 Avenue D about 4:30 p.m. when he got into a dispute with someone who then shot him four times in the chest, according to the NYPD.
"He dropped his baby off and this happened a half-hour after. He gave his son a kiss and a hug. We told him to be careful," said the childrens' mother, Veronica Echevarria, 26.
"I tried calling him after, but someone else picked up the phone. He was gone," Echevarria added.
No one was immediately arrested in connection to his death and did not have any description of the suspect, an NYPD spokeswoman said.

NYPD officials ID'd Shaquille Fuller (pictured below), 21, a resident of 60 Avenue D, as the suspect in the shooting.

The NYPD has arrested Fuller this morning. Charges are pending, DNAinfo reports.
