Putting a dent in the July 4 celebration

EVG reader Augie notes the damage on Suffolk between Houston and Stanton ... after someone set off fireworks (explosives?) on the hood of this Range Land Rover Defender...

That's not a new douchebag Range Rover; really hope it's not the cool vintage 1950s-era one that looks like something out of "Born Free" that I've seen parked around the EV the last few years. That thing has worn and faded paint but is obviously much-loved and much-driven, and it would be criminal if some asshole had done this to it when so many more deserving vehicles are parked on our streets every day.

It's a circa 1994 Land Rover Defender, North American Spec 110 Safari with external roll cage as mandated by NHSTA.

They are quite rare and sell north of $60,000 as they are quite rare. Brand new it was probably $28k.

That firework hood mod is fucked up!

Just sayin'

Mr.Evgrieve made a typo. It is in fact a 1993 Land rover defender 110. 1993 was the only year they were legally imported and only 500 were brought to the states, 12 to Canada.
It is loved and driven. Not a show piece.
We were hoping for a witness but there may be a video. This is a bullshit move.
The bonnet cannot be repaired. A new one will have to be sourced.

Brand new they were $39k, in 1993
