Things that I wish I hadn't read: Katz's corned beef sandwich has 4,490 milligrams of sodium

Which is the same amount as 10 McDonald's hamburgers. (The New York Times via Grub Street)

The Times says it's the sandwich AND pickles, so I'll just skip the pickles! (The food is much better where I live--in denial.)

Even more shocking is the price on that ticket...$14.25?!?

Probably weighs ten times as much, too.

WOW--the amount of meat in the sandwich is enough for 3 smaller sandwiches. Still WOW!

is 5000 miligrams really that much?

Yes, Glamma! That's about two days' worth!

Well, it's not like you eat there every day...and the sandwiches are sized for sharing, so go ahead and have that pickle.

Still eating it, don't care what the Times sez! (I get mine with chicken liver; try it!)

A good corned beef sandwich is a once or twice-a-year thing for me.

Typically St. Patty's and a ravenous early-winter nosh when the craving hits.

I'll just be sure to roll in with an IV drip next time.

I ordered the fat-free corned beef sandwich there once and they handed me two slices of rye.

[And the crowd booooooos]
