Move Out Weekend casualties include 'The Albino Bowler,' big kinda weird couch

EVG contributor Derek Berg spotted some fine items on the curb today, such as "The Albino Bowler" painting on East Fifth Street between First Avenue and Second Avenue...

Also on East Fifth Street between Second Avenue and Cooper Square...

Looks comfortable enough. But how did that fit through the door?

Fundamental rule of moving furniture- if it doesn't fit force it! Also skin grows back, paint doesn't. You're welcome.

I've learned that the doors never reattach exactly right after you detach them to get shit through

More than a couple of years I hope.

Another Stupid Hollywood Movie is appropriating the block I live on, with unpaid interns / PAs trying to tell me what side of the street i can walk on. They quickly found out how nasty I can be.

nygrump @ 2:31 PM is right. I experience this every few months. The movers unscrew the hinges and door closers, then after the move is done, they put it back together haphazardly, with the doors hanging at an angle, unable to be closed.

Since we are now a NYU dorm, this is what Stuy Town looks like on ANY given day.

@3:55 PM

Which block? I always like to go out of my way to make PAs realize how unimportant they really are.

That bowler is worth $99. Google albino bowler and see all the various stuff you can buy. http://mcphee.com/shop/albino-bowler-oil-painting.html

Somebody nabbed the bowler, but as of this morning, the Kandinsky is still up for grabs.

To 5:29PM : 5th Street between 2nd & 3rd. They're gone now. The movie they're shooting is called "Mozart in the Jungle". They're about 40 years late to use that title.

The Albino Bowler got snatched-up before Kandinsky? Reminds me of that Cheers episode where Sam Malone bought a painting of "dogs playing poker" much to Diane's dismay.
