Prince tribute at Dallas BBQ?

Or maybe just a coincidence here on Second Avenue and St. Mark's Place.

Um, he was a vegetarian and that's the worst place in the world for a vegetarian.

So that means the place could not pay tribute to his passing? Extending that argument, then most of the people who danced and sang in the streets here in NY and in Minnesota, or left flowers and other tributes, should not have bothered since they were probably not vegetarians? Has it really come to that?

Prince was a vegan (difference).

They actually have a delicious Southwest black bean veggie burger, lots of vegetarian sides, a steamed vegetable plate, plenty of salads, and have you seen all those delicious looking frozen drinks? They're vegetarian too.

Even though I agree most people who've grooved to Prince are not vegan or even vegetarian, I'll share an awesome quote of his here:

"We need an Animal Rights Day when all slaughterhouses shut down."

If it really IS a tribute to the little homophobic fop, then that's the last time I eat there. (And hipsters, his music wasn't all that...)

HippieChick, I'm just curious. Apparently Prince's music didn't impress you, so might you be generous enough to share what music does meet your standards?

How rude. I'm sure that HippieChick eats there all the time, I think I saw her there on BBQ Hippie night. . FYI Prince was one of the most accomplished musicians of our time, and according to everyone who knew him a great human being. So much for that hippie Summer of Love nonsense. Hey, The 60s called, they want their love beads back.

I heard one of his employees say that they were not allowed to bring in anything to eat that "had parents or eyes".

Saturday Night Live is doing an All Prince special tonight. The title: Goodnight Sweet Prince.

Giovanni, Thanks for the heads-up! And, one more thing, HippieChick-why the hate? If you are old enough to have earned your "handle", your comment mystifies me. I guess you're a hippie in a Ted Nugent kind-of-way. I'm not religious, so I don't pray, but I do hope that somehow you are delivered to a better place. Peace

My partner did a photoshoot with Prince many years ago (mid 90's) and his impression was Prince was someone impossible to speak to (kind of like in a movie about diva that you are not allowed to make eye contact with).

A few years back I went here, it's a long story.... They have a some purple sugary drink called "purple rain". I ask the waiter is it name after Prince? He said who? I said you know that song "1999"? He said I was 5 then.

I was a big fan of his until that double disc album came out.

Hippie Chick,

You got receipts on Prince's homophobia, or are you just talking shit to be cute? Dude got called the F-bomb more times from people than I'd care to remember.

You don't have to dig his music or him personally, but yap is just yap. And you can put that yap back in the bank where it won't ever collect interest.

HippieChick -

Elaborate on Prince being a "homophobic fop".
