[Updated] Claribel is missing
East Village resident Ravi DeRossi was out of town for several days... and the person taking care of his pets accidentally let out one of his cats.
"Her name is Claribel. She's not the friendliest cat in the world, she scratches a bit but she means the world to me."
There is a $1,000 reward for her return. She was last seen on Seventh Street between Avenue A and First Avenue.
Here's a number to use for any info about Claribel: (917) 597-2692.

She has been found and is back home...

:( Oh no. I am a cat owner myself and understand how utterly special and important this relationship is. I will keep my eyes and hear open...
What an awful thing to come home to and realize :(
I hope she doesn't find her way around any Trump properties. He might come on like a bitch and grab it.
Seriously, I hope you get your mean but cute cat back.

I'm so sorry to hear about this; I just had to say goodbye to one of my cats a couple of weeks ago, and I have to say it leaves a real hole in your heart.
I just lost a cat while traveling 500 miles-do not give up hope! Check the ACC fast as they do not live long there- -and put up signs- luckily my car jumped cage before my car left town so he was recovered/ ! But it was awful not knowing- good luck!
I'm in PA but network widely...I hope we can find this beautiful little lady for you!
What a relief! Thanks for letting us know she was found. If you are cat sitting, you have to be so careful about not opening windows or leaving doors open and allowing cats to escape. I hope this cat sitter learned his or her lesson!
Oh thank God she is home with her peeps. Claribel, silly girl, from now on stay indoors and be loved and kissed and petted and safe! Thanks, Grieve, for letting us know.
Cats always find their way back.
Yay! I am happy to hear this. She's home. Great news!!
Cats rule!!
Glad Claribel is back home!
A reminder to get your pets microchipped, everyone.
Especially if they wind up in animal control, a microchip could be a life-saver.
ALWAYS make sure the cat is nowhere near the entrance to your place, never leave the entrance open, and never have windows open wide enough that the cat can exit through them!
If you have a cat who makes it a point to try to get by you buy a 2oz. spray bottle, fill it with water, put it in the fridge, take it out and spray mist towards not on the cat and the cat will bolt. This is good for cats who scratch furniture, too.
