Post, a new cafe, opens on Avenue B

Back in the fall of 2015, we heard that a new cafe was in the works for 42 Avenue B between Third Street and Fourth Street.

In recent weeks it looked as if the place was getting ready to open... The cafe, called Post, debuted last week. EVG reader ‏@Jason_Chatfield shared these photos from yesterday...

The menu shows several varieties of biscuits for breakfast ... as well as coffee and tea...

Lunch and dinner are coming soon, per the Post website.

And we don't know too much else about Post at the moment. (Updated: Gothamist has more on Post here.)

The address was previously home to Coyi Cafe, which closed in January 2014 after five years in business.

Just some very preliminary information out of 42 Avenue B between East Third Street and East Fourth Street… where word is a cafe with coffee/pastries/etc. will open in the next two months… we'll update when we receive more information about the new venture.

The address was previously home to Coyi Cafe, which closed in January 2014 after five years in business.

Reader report: Coyi Cafe closes after Sunday on Avenue B

Coyi Cafe, an unpretentious little spot on Avenue B near East Third Street, will close for good after Sunday, according to an EVG reader. We didn't hear a reason why. We stopped by yesterday to find the Cafe closed until tomorrow.

Coyi Cafe, which serves tea, coffee and assorted sandwiches, opened here back in January 2009.
