Octavia's Porch closes after 6 months

The "Global Jewish" restaurant from "Top Chef" alum Nikki Cascone at 40 Avenue B barely lasted six months, and it was rocky from the start. Early on some residents questioned the name — which paid homage to the passageway in Rome's former Jewish ghetto.

Perhaps this is currently a jinxed spot... Chabela's and Russo's have been in and out of here in fairly quick succession in recent years.

Octavia's Porch really wants you to know that they're delivering now

Earlier this month, we noted that Octavia's Porch on Avenue B was starting delivery service ... Meanwhile, we've been spotting the menus to the restaurant co-owned by Nikki Cascone from "Top Chef" season four taped up on city property on corners from Houston to Seventh Street, Avenue A to Avenue C...

Octavia's Porch now coming to your front door

This past weekend, we spotted delivery menus for the newish Octavia's Porch on Avenue B plastered on various apartments buildings on streets running between Avenue A and Avenue C... This is the "Global Jewish" restaurant co-owned by Nikki Cascone from "Top Chef" season four and her husband... (And if you didn't know she was on "Top Chef," it's on the front of the delivery menu...)

One curious note about the delivery area: Delancey to Eighth Street; the Bowery to Avenue D. So if you're living above Eighth Street and are craving, say, gefilte fish or beef and veal kreplach, then you're out of luck on a delivery.
