Y Cafe (formerly Wai? Cafe on First Avenue) is now open on Avenue B near 11th Street... This addressed previously belonged to the Little Bird, a vegan cafe.
In a cost-effective move, instead of replacing the old sign...
...the folks at Y Cafe simply turned it into a planter of sorts...
Perhaps this is only temporary. But it's always a better alternative than leaving the previous restaurant's sign/name in full view...

Wai? Cafe ready to open as Y Cafe on Avenue B
As we pointed out back in April, Wai? Cafe had left its First Avenue home... and was relocating to Avenue B near 11th Street... There is now a sign... as well as menus ... looks as if they're going by Y Cafe these days.
The menu looks similar too...
No exact opening date just yet.

Sa Aming Nayon now open in the former Wai? Cafe space
The Filipino restaurant here on First Avenue between 12th Street and 13th Street is now open. They're also serving breakfast daily from 9-11 a.m.
I don't know anything about Filipino food. So can someone tell me about their breakfast specials, such as Cornsilog — homemade corned beef, garlic fried rice and two eggs any style ($7.95). And if you've eaten here already, then please pass along a report.
Meanwhile, work continues on Avenue B where Wai? Cafe will move one of these days.

Wai? Cafe relocating to Avenue B
Last week, we noted that Wai? Cafe on First Avenue had closed. However, EV Grieve reader Melissa reports that Wai? is relocating to 182 Avenue B near 11th Street. (An outgoing message at Wai? confirms the move to Avenue B.) The new location is expected to open in late May or early June.
The Little Bird, the vegan cafe that was in the space before, closed in January.
Workers have been renovating the 182 space in recents weeks.
