Based on e-mails and reader comments, here are three of the more difficult corners to navigate... certainly there are others...
Southeast corner of the Bowery and Second Street...
Northeast corner of 12th Street and Second Avenue....
And the worst ... the northeast corner of Sixth Street and First Avenue...

I was going to mention the NE corner at 6th & 1st then saw the mention. You mofos are ON IT!!!
Here's a tip - don't walk on the west side of 1st Ave between 2nd Street - 6th Street. Too crowded and slushy. Instead, if you must walk 1st Ave, walk along the east side of the avenue for those precious few blocks to enjoy a wide, shoveled walkway.

14th Street & 1st avenue (all 4 corners) is horrible. You need a pole vault (or a row boat) to cross the street!
I can personally confirm the NE corner of 12th Street and Second Avenue. It was even worse the night before last!
I'd add the southwest corner of 14th Street and Broadway, in front of Shoe Mania. I saw people crossing the street (either from the former Virgin Megastore entrance across Broadway, or from Union Square) reach that corner and stop in the middle of the street, trying to figure out how that slushy expanse could be crossed. Some folks (myself included) actually gave up and walked back to the other side of the street, in hopes of finding easier passage at another intersection.
Thanks for the reports... You know, I realize that at 6th and 1st Ave., this isn't the responsibility of Dunkin Donuts to clear... But wouldn't you WANT to clear a path here? ... While waiting to take this photo, I watched several people navigate the moat ... and they walked into DD. Why not be a good neighborhood and help clear a path?
One of the worst ever: the southwest corner of Houston and Essex! And Southwest corner of Houston and Chrystie!
I'm surprised no one is mentioning the new MTA ticket machines buried in snow.
Living on the north side of 6th b/w 1st and A has been like being landlocked (or something).
I hear there is going to be a protest against slush at Tompkins Square Park tomorrow. I'm there. Who else is in?
To avoid the puddles at Houston and Allen and Houston and Chrystie, I cross UNDERNEATH Houston Street via both ends of the the 2nd Avenue F subway entrances. It only helps if you're trying to cross between North and South though.

We might as well put these on the map, they're like practically geographic features by now. Fuck the snow.
I have to add more now now: the crosswalk at the light on Stanton and Chrystie. The East-side curb at the park has a massive and deep puddle. Good thing I had my dense and waterproof L.L.Bean boots on to grip AND keep my feet dry.
How is it that our city, NYC, self-proclaimed center of the world, has never heard of the invention of the storm drain??
