Readers and patrons of the M15 Select Bus service on First Avenue are noting a lot of confusion this morning... on Saturday, the MTA removed the M15 Select Bus ticket machines from the stop at First Avenue between Second and Third streets ...
...and moved them to First Avenue at First Street... where the new bus bulb thingy is...
[A more tranquil yesterday]
All fine. Except that the MTA apparently didn't tell anyone that this was happening.
Per a reader, waiting for a bus:
"People who usually catch the select bus on 3rd and first are all confused this morning. machines are gone other commuters informed us they were moved here to first and first. lots of people dressed for work and running down first ave."
Welcome to the newly placed machines...
Any other Select Bus stories to share today? (Or any other day...)
Updated 9:27 a.m. — @Newyorkist said that the M15 drivers had continually announced the coming changes ...
Previously on EV Grieve:
On First Avenue, the machines are taking over!

Ah, the corner of first, and first, the same street that intersects with itself -- the nexus of the universe.
The one in the middle...is that Lady Gaga?!?!
Wait the MTA did something without telling anyone or putting up proper signs? Shocking!
You know, I walked past that yesterday and a couple blocks later thought to myself, "Were the bus ticket machines etc not there? Nahhh, must just have not noticed them or something..."
Good thing, I'm too young for senility.
While they did all the construction b/w 1st and 2nd earlier in summer, they moved the Local to between 2nd and 3rd...but didn't tell the bus drivers! For a week or two hey continually zoomed passed people waiting to be picked up. So this is no surprise.
they should have left it where it was, it was much better there! why put MORE congestion at the corner of 1st and 1st???
come on MTA... get with the program FOR ONCE
Take the bus minimum 6 days a week. Newyorkist is mistaken, never heard one announcement regarding the change.
You mean that incomprehensible crackling over the PA was actually someone conveying some important information?
As a daily SBS rider I can guarantee an announcement was not made on any bus I ever rode. The building super at 3rd street was directing riders south as there was ZERO signage. The fare machines at 1st and 1st however had one sign saying the bus no longer stops " there"
as for the constant flow of Lady Gaga comments..how 'bout Lady CaCa??!!*(&
Strangely, when you looked up the select bus route map it always listed 1st street as a stop. I never understood why that was until now. Guess this was always the intended location.
