Reader report: Trash bags are starting to pile up in Tompkins Square Park

EVG regular Salim notes that bags of trash have accumulated at several locations in Tompkins Square Park since Sunday.

He reported the garbage to the city via 311 on Monday and again today.

Meanwhile, the piles are growing...

Thanks for highlighting this Grieve was walking in the park last night and though well maybe it's prop trash for the 90's movie being filmed on Ave A or something but don't recall trash being oiled that high in the 90's or 80's or 70's or 60's for that matter

Why can’t the NYC Parks department help to staff Tompkins Square Park (like all the other downtown parks?) the garbage piles up, the lunatics turn the bushes into their makeshift homes and more garbage piles up, the walkways are so beat up you trip and fall and break your ankle, metal barricades laying all over the place, down tree branches all over the walkways, and now lots of graffiti that makes no sense on the tiles by the Krishna tree! Most everybody that lives in this neighborhood and uses this park pays a lot of money to live here so why does our park look like a piece of shite???
