There will be a mass at 11 a.m. ... and a "brief" blessing in the garden afterward...

Bless your pets at Trinity Lower East Side tomorrow!

Pastor Will let us know that the annual Blessing of the Animals takes place tomorrow (Sunday!) at Trinity Lower East Side Lutheran Parish on Avenue B at Ninth Street. 

Per the EVG inbox: 
Inspired by Saint Francis and his love for all God's creatures, on Sunday, Oct. 8, we invite all pets and their parents to join us for our beloved annual Blessing of the Animals!"

There are two opportunities for pets to receive a blessing:  
• At 11 a.m. our regular worship service indoors will become alive with activity as pets join in the prayer and praise! Please be sure all pets joining our service are well-behaved and potty trained. 
• At 1 p.m. a brief blessing will be given outdoors in our garden, perfect for any pets and parents who prefer a blessing on the go!

At the Blessing of the Animals today at Trinity Lower East Side Lutheran Parish

Pet owners turned out this morning for the annual Blessing of the Animals at Trinity Lower East Side Lutheran Parish on Avenue B at Ninth Street.

EVG contributor Stacie Joy stopped by to watch Pastor Will in action in this celebration of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals.

There was a variety of doggos... and one owner even brought his late pet in a cremation box...

2 chances to bless your pets this weekend

There are two opportunities to have your pets blessed this weekend... in the annual celebration of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals. 

Tomorrow (Saturday!) at Immaculate Conception on 14th Street at First Avenue ... the Blessing of Animals takes place at 1 p.m. in front of the church. 

And on Sunday, the Trinity Lower East Side Lutheran Parish on Avenue B at Ninth Street will hold their annual event.  

Per the EVG inbox... 
There are two opportunities to have your pets blessed: 
• At 11 a.m., well-behaved pets are invited to join us for worship, which will begin with the Blessing of Animals and continue with Holy Communion, where everyone is welcome. 

• At 1 p.m., a brief blessing will be given outdoors in Trinity's garden (weather permitting), perfect for pets on the move and those who might be too rambunctious to join us indoors.

A blessed day for dogs at Trinity Lower East Side

 
Yesterday afternoon, Trinity Lower East Side Lutheran Parish hosted a walk-through Blessing of the Animals in their garden space on Avenue B at Ninth Street... EVG contributor Stacie Joy stopped to catch Pastor Will in action in this celebration of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals...

Join Joey for Blessing of the Animals tomorrow at Trinity Lower East Side


Trinity Lower East Side Lutheran Parish is hosting a Blessing of the Animals tomorrow (Sunday!) afternoon... details via the EVG inbox!
In commemoration of St. Francis' love for all creatures and in celebration of the gifts of love and devotion our pets bring to our lives, Trinity Lower East Side Lutheran Parish will host a walk-through Blessing of the Animals in their garden on the corner of Avenue B and 9th Street this Sunday, Oct. 4, from 1 to 2 in the afternoon.  

Especially if you are out enjoying the exciting events around the neighborhood at this year's LUNGS Harvest Festival on Sunday, stop by Trinity's garden with your furry friends for a blessing! Trinity's church pup and Tompkins Square Dog Run favorite Joey will be there and he'd love to welcome you!

Blessing the pets at St. Mark's Church in-the-Bowery



Yesterday morning, St. Mark's Church in-the-Bowery celebrated St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals, with a blessing of the pets ceremony.



The Rev. Anne Sawyer presided over the service, blessing an array of dogs, a few cats and one Japanese fighting fish named Fifi. EVG contributor Stacie Joy stopped by the church yard on Second Avenue and 10th Street for the ceremonies...

A chance to bless your pets



This just in this evening...

The annual Blessing of Animals will take place on Saturday September 30th at 1 p.m. in front of Immaculate Conception Church, 414 E. 14th Street near First Avenue. All are welcome!

Per the flyer, the pets do not have to be Catholic to be blessed...
