The new East Village location of the Brindle Room set to open next week on 11th Street

The familiar Brindle Room signage went up yesterday at the restaurant's new home, 647 E. 11th St., just west of Avenue C. 

Owner Jeremy Spector tells us that they will debut on Wednesday, July 27, with an abbreviated preview menu through Labor Day. 

For the first few weeks, he said they'll be open Wednesday through Saturday from 5-11 p.m. ... with expanded hours, days and brunch to come soon.

The Brindle Room, known for its burgers, spent 11 years at 277 E. 10th St. between Avenue A and First Avenue. The restaurant was doing takeout during the early days of the pandemic but stayed shut after the spring of 2020.

Spector vowed to find a new home for The Brindle Room. He had to say about the space at No. 647 earlier this year.

"The place has really cool ceilings, and it's bigger and nicer than my old spot. But most important to me is that it's in the same neighborhood. I'm pretty fired up — it's been two long years." 

The previous tenant here, Virginia's, will reopen this fall in the old Root & Bone space on Third Street. 

Brindle Room is making an East Village return this spring in new 11th Street home

The Brindle Room has a new East Village home. 

Owner Jeremy Spector confirmed that his restaurant, known for some pretty tasty burgers, will reopen this spring at 647 E. 11th St. just west of Avenue C. 

Spector is on this month's CB3-SLA docket (Feb. 16) for a liquor license for the address, the former Virginia's. (Their lease was up on Dec. 31 at the address and Virginia's ownership decided to look elsewhere for a larger space.)

Chichen Itzá for 277 E. 10th St.

Signage is up now for Chichen Itzá, a Mexican restaurant, coming soon to 277 E. 10th St. between Avenue A and First Avenue. 

Earlier in the summer, the @TradedNY account reported that Chic-hen, which specializes in fried chicken over in Clinton Hill, was the new tenant. 

Looks like there may have been a Chichen/Chic-hen mix-up. For starters, Chic-hen offers a variety of salads, fries, wings, sandwiches, burgers and rice dishes. (We reached out to them to see if they're launching a new concept.) 

There was a Chichen Itzá Mexican Grill in Sunset Park that's now closed. They have a similar logo to what's on the window here. (Efforts to reach someone affiliated with that establishment haven't been successful.)

We'll see if we can get this sorted out.

This address was home for 11 years to the Brindle Room, whose closure was made official back in June. Owner Jeremy Spector told us that he is looking for a new location for his restaurant that served "eclectic comfort food."
