The Post reports that Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz have sold their East Village residence for $6 million.
Jennifer Gould Keil notes that this was the same price they paid for the 15th-floor unit in the New Theatre Building at 240 E. 10th St. at First Avenue in 2012.
The couple apparently bought a townhouse in Brooklyn early last year.
Current residents of the New Theatre Building have been enduring the sanitation department's parking lot along 10th Street this past year.

There goes 'Othello'
The 8-week run of "Othello" starring David Oyelowo and local favorite Daniel Craig ended last week at the New York Theatre Workshop on Fourth Street.
The signage came down today... as the company prepares for its next production — "The Object Lesson."
Tickets were hard to come by for this well-regarded version of "Othello." I was curious to see it. (But not this curious.)

Why, yes you can live on St. Mark's Place for $19,500 a month
The penthouse rental at 19 St. Mark's Place (waaaay above the Chipotle!) is back on the market. We wrote about it in January 2010. It was $17,000 a month then. Starting Sept. 1, the furnished place is $19,500. (A bargain, considering this apartment first went on the market in October 2008 for $25,000.)
Here's the listing via Stribling:
Dazzling views and two large private terraces (265 and 886 sq ft) flank both sides of the living/dining room of this unique and luxurious furnished 2 bedroom with office or 3 bedroom penthouse. The key lock elevator opens into the loft thereby ensuring one's privacy and north and south facing floor to ceiling windows on both sides of the loft grace every room with open city views.
The entertaining space has a large living room with a wood burning fireplace, separate dining room and a pretty top of the line windowed kitchen with breakfast bar. On the east end of the loft is the master bedroom which has a large windowed marble spa bath en-suite with soaking tub and separate shower .The office or small 3rd bedroom is across the hall and the spacious 2nd bedroom with en-suite bath is on the other side of the loft near the guest bath. A laundry room, highend finishes, central AC and a rare feeling of space, light and privacy complete this unique, approximately 2700 sq ft, home in the East Village. A gourmet market, major transportation and convenient shopping are steps away. Available September, furnished only and flex lease term. Doorman: M-F 8:30am - 4:30pm
And the accompanying photos, which are the same from 2010...
And, according to a reader who lives on this block, this is the home that a movie star and his Academy Award-winning wife have have lived in lately... But who knows.
See our previous post on this building for photos of what the address used to be...

Looking for where James Bond star Daniel Craig lives in the East Village
The Daily Mail goes looking for some info on Daniel Craig's East Village home and other stuff ... the paper speaks with a "bored-looking concierge" who denies that the James Bond star lives in the "low-key building" in question.
But! Some locals blab. Per the article:
Not that he and his wife Rachel Weisz will be spending too much time here.
If celebrity real estate is your thing ... Any guesses where he lives? I thought it was here, though there's isn't a tattoo parlor next door. (And he's not here. Yet.)
But! Some locals blab. Per the article:
Step into the grimy street outside and the locals are positively falling over themselves to talk about their famous neighbour.
'Of course that’s his place — we see him going in and out all the time,' drawls the lady in the next-door tattoo parlour.
'I did a double-take the first time I saw him in the supermarket,' adds star-struck Debra Johansen. 'He had a flat cap on and he had his head down. He doesn’t look at anyone.'
Not that he and his wife Rachel Weisz will be spending too much time here.
Work is understood to be ongoing on a house in Regent’s Park, where they intend to set up a more permanent home.
...
Back in the UK, the couple have also been spotted house-hunting in Dorset, where they have reportedly briefed estate agents to find them a property with 'a minimum of six acres to ensure complete privacy'.

A Daniel Craig moment outside the Theater For The New City Building
The Post noted in April that Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig were continuing their house hunting around town... and that Weisz, who previously lived on East 11th Street with then-husband Darren Aronofsky, looked at 238 E. Fourth St.
Anyway, last evening around 10, our own Mrs. Grieve is in a cab waiting for the light to change on East 10th Street near First Avenue. At that moment, the front door to the Theater For The New City Building opens and Daniel Craig walks out. He heads to the curb, tosses his gum into the street and turns to wait for other people coming out the door — a woman in her late 50s and Rachel Weisz. Then the light turns and the cab moves on...
Maybe they were at a party. Or maybe they are the people who are buying the $4.95 million penthouse here that went into contract in the summer:
And who throws gum on the street?

This full-floor apartment is truly one-of-a-kind with unobstructed views in every room from all four exposures and over-sized windows! The views include the Empire State bldg., Chrysler Bldg., and new Freedom Tower, among others. It's what New Yorkers dream of owning and wait for years to find! It even has 3 balconies. Sophisticated and chic, the home is in triple mint condition with contemporary finishes & materials - a fully custom renovation featured in Elle Decor (UK Edition). A key-locked elevator opens into a warm and welcoming foyer, but it's the massive living room (34' x 28'9") that really draws you into the space with scenic views that are spectacular both during the day and at night, especially from the balcony.
And who throws gum on the street?
