Everytable has closed its Avenue B outpost (and every other NYC location)

Everytable, the Los Angeles-based fast-casual concept focused on healthy meals, has closed all NYC locations, including the outpost at 229 Avenue B between 13th Street and 14th Street.

The gate has been down at Avenue B for several weeks. Google and Yelp both list the location as permanently closed. In fact, all the NYC outposts — we counted seven locations — have closed.

An Everytable rep told an EVG reader: "Last week, we made the incredibly tough decision to leave New York for now." The rep said they would take a "step back in this moment to build a truly revolutionary company." (We reached out for comment as well.)

The Everytable website no longer lists any NYC addresses, with 11 locations still serving in Southern California.

Here's more about the company, per a June 2023 news release on a $25 million round of funding:
Founded in 2016, Everytable is a mission-driven food company based in Los Angeles that fights for food justice and equality by providing healthy and nutritious food that is both accessible and affordable for everyone. Everytable is a multi-channel, fresh-prepared food business blending stores, subscriptions, delivery, and SmartFridges supplied by a central kitchen, with meals priced according to the neighborhood.
The Avenue B location opened in May 2023

Openings: Everytable on Avenue B

Everytable debuted last week at 229 Avenue B between 13th Street and 14th Street.

As previously noted, this is the California-based company's first foray into NYC (a Chelsea outpost is also open now).

Everytable offers a handful of grab-and-go meals (as well as some juices and smoothies). Menu items include the Turkey Taco Bowl ($6.25), Thai Red Curry with Veggies ($6.30) and Chicken Shawarma with Yogurt Sauce ($7.15). The most expensive menu item we saw: Salmon Superfood Salad ($8.15).

There are a few tables for dining ... and you can also order ahead for pickup. Other features: You can buy a meal for someone via Everytable's "Pay It Forward" service

Thanks to both Brian Carroll and @eastvillagetours for sharing photos...
This location is open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Everytable makes it signage office on Avenue B

Updated 5/25: Certified open!

Thanks to the EVG readers who pointed out that the Everytable signage is now up at 229 Avenue B between 13th Street and 14th Street. (The PEACE art pre-dates their arrival.)

As we reported on March 29, Everytable, the Los Angeles-based fast-casual concept focused on healthy meals, is expanding into NYC with 100 new outposts expected in the next few years.

Per the company's website:
Everytable’s business model drastically reduces the costs of the standard restaurant model. Chefs at our local kitchen turn fresh, wholesome ingredients into delicious meals, which we sell through our small, grab-and-go storefronts.
From start to finish, everything is designed to be super-efficient, and the savings are reflected in our prices. We have locations in food deserts, underserved communities with little or no access to nutritious food, and in affluent areas. To ensure that everyone can afford our meals, we price them according to the neighborhoods we serve.
No word just yet on an opening date on Avenue B.

Everytable bringing its fast-casual concept to Avenue B

Everytable, the Los Angeles-based fast-casual concept focused on healthy meals, has big expansion plans for NYC... and Avenue B is one of the 100 new outposts the company plans on opening in the next five years.

Coming-soon signage is now up here at No. 229 between 13th Street and 14th Street.

You may have read about the Everytable business model, which uses sliding-scale pricing depending on the neighborhood's median income.

Here's more about the company, founded in 2013:

Everytable also offers a "pay it forward" program, which allows people to purchase meals for someone in need. No word on an EV opening date.

This storefront was previously East Village Fruit & Vegetable, which closed in 2018.
