The 12-story residential building at 200 E. 11th St., which Benchmark Real Estate Group paid $57 million for late last year, is starting to lose the dorm look of its NYU neighbors here along Third Avenue.
The rebranded Eleventh and Third is going through a top-to-bottom renovation, and there are already noticeable differences on the building's exterior.

Meanwhile, inside, two-bedroom rentals will be fetching upwards of $10,000 a month.

My eyes may deceive me, but I could swear that the transformation of the brick exterior involves spray painting it black.
If only I had $57M, I'll bet I can turn it into $100M with a few cans of paint.
Sooo, it's going from crappy light brick to crappy dark brick? An amazing transformation - now it will look like gloomy public housing instead of cheesy public housing. Thanks, architects!
I wanna see it painted, painted black!
Black as night, black as coal!
I wanna see the sun blotted out from the sky!
I wanna see it painted, painted, painted, painted black...!
