Strong winds and locally heavy snow may create dangerous travel conditions for a period early this afternoon. #NYwx #CTwx #NJwx pic.twitter.com/Sp05wEl2HJ

Wind, rain-to-wet-snow, and the jump to daylight savings time—all harbingers of spring, and quite welcome, as far as I’m concerned.
On the upside: A quiet Saturday night without any rooftop parties.
I imagine we'll survive.
And yay, NO backyard or rooftop parties today or tonight!
Yes! No rooftop parties. As I walked home to Alphabet City from my shift as a waiter in the west village last night, there weren't a lot of people out as there usually are. It was absolutely gorgeous. I didn't have to walk in the street bypassing drunks to get to my apartment or get pushed to the side of a building on a sidewalk by obnoxious bros or step over puddles of vomit. Winter is my favorite season because not only was I born during this period, but because it is a time of reflection and solitude.
Last week, I was shoved by an extremely rude 20-something woman into the sandwich sign at Miss Lilys. She said something obnoxious as well and I realized it was the first time I'd had a physical encounter on the street with a stranger for at least two years. I guess we're back to "normal" now with the entitled brunch crowd swarming back to our neighborhood like flies on trash. Woooo!
