Signage alert: Tea Leaf and Creamery on St. Mark's Place

St. Mark's Place will soon have yet another choice for bubble tea.

Signage is up for Tea Leaf and Creamery, which offers a variety of bubble teas, smoothies and desserts.

This will be the brand's first NYC location, with five branches in Georgia, Tucson, Ariz., and Miami.

The space was previously occupied by Yi Fang Taiwan Fruit Tea.

Signage alert: JoJu on St. Mark's Place

An outpost of JoJu is coming to the eastern storefront at 33 St. Mark's Place, just west of Second Avenue.
This is the latest location for the quick-serve biz serving Vietnamese sandwiches and salad/rice bowls .... with "options available for carb-conscious diners."

This will be the fifth branch for the brand that launched in 2011 in Elmhurst.

Eater has named JoJu one of NYC's best Vietnamese restaurants, noting: "JoJu extends the frontiers of the classic banh mi sandwich, constructing some newfangled ones out of things like Korean bulgogi and Japanese pork belly, while retaining the usual Vietnamese varieties."

P.S.

The building and storefront have undergone significant changes since Manic Panic was here from 1977 to 1989.

Yi Fang Taiwan Fruit Tea signage arrives on St. Mark's Place

The Yi Fang Taiwan Fruit Tea signage is now up 33 St. Mark's Place.

As previously noted, the chainlet, with an outpost in Flushing, takes over the space from CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice, the Taiwan-based chain that closed in late May after nearly five and a half years in business.

This space here between Second Avenue and Third Avenue was Rockit Scientist Records until the spring of 2012. There was also, for a sec, Iris Cafe.

CoCo Fresh Juice & Tea now open on St. Mark's Place; also, mascot alert

Oh, that CoCo Fresh Juice & Tea opened this week at 33 St. Mark's Place, last home to the short-lived Iris Cafe.

It's a Taiwan-based business with, well, that many stores worldwide (including several in NYC)...

Don't know much about the place... but they do have a photogenic mascot... (hope this thing is St. Mark's proof.)

This space was previously home to Rockit Scientist Records, which closed in the spring of 2012.
