Corner space on 7th Street and Avenue B for rent as Jillery wraps up its business

Late last week, Jillery, the jewelry and home accessories shop on Avenue B at Seventh Street, vacated the corner space. (The store closing signs arrived back in March.)

However, Jillery isn't done here just yet. The shop continues its going-out-of-business sale in the vacant space (RIP Paradiso) next door...

Artist Jill Fagin, who launched her business in 1987, moved to this corner from 10th Street between Third Avenue and Fourth Avenue in the summer of 2013.

The corner space, 107 Avenue B, is currently for rent. Perhaps a like-minded venture such as Jillery will be here in the future. The president of the board of directors of the co-op here told me this in 2013: "Our co-op is very proud to have rejected chain stores, banks, bars and loud food establishments. We are proud to have chosen a local business like Jillery who has been in the neighborhood for many years ..."

Jillery is closing on 7th and B

A "store closing" sign is up now in the front window at Jillery, the jewelry and home accessories shop on Avenue B at Seventh Street...

No word just yet why Jillery is closing here ... or when their last day is. (I reached out for more details. Updated: the end of May.)

Artist Jill Fagin, who launched her business in 1987, moved to this corner from 10th Street between Third Avenue and Fourth Avenue in the summer of 2013.

Amaran, which specialized in imported home goods, was the previous corner business until February 2013.

As for what might be next, the president of the board of directors of the co-op at 184 E. Seventh St. told me this in 2013: "Our co-op is very proud to have rejected chain stores, banks, bars and loud food establishments. We are proud to have chosen a local business like Jillery who has been in the neighborhood for many years ..."

Here comes Jillery

As we noted back on June 21, Jillery, the jewelry and home accessories shop, is moving from its current home on East 10th Street to the corner of East Seventh Street and Avenue B.

The 10th Street location closed yesterday... and the folks from Jillery have been filling up the new shop... and, as this photo by Dave on 7th shows, they're working on the exterior as well.

No opening date for the new location just yet. (Per the Jillery Facebook page: " Hopefully we will be open soon. We are working on it!")

The corner spot was last home to most recently home to Amaran.

Jillery is moving to 7th and B

Jillery, the jewelry and home accessories shop, is moving from its current home on East 10th Street to the corner of East Seventh Street and Avenue B, most recently home to Amaran.

Artist Jill Fagin launched her business in 1987. (Read more about that here.)

We originally reported that a yoga studio was taking over the space on Seventh and B, though that business was just one of the possibilities for the corner.

As for Jillery signing a lease here, Anna Pastoressa, president of the board of directors of the co-op at 184 E. Seventh St., told us the following:

Our co-op is very proud to have rejected chain stores, banks, bars and loud food establishments. We are proud to have chosen a local business like Jillery who has been in the neighborhood for many years and we wish Jillery great success in our corner.

After some cosmetic renovation on the space, Jillery is eyeing an end-of-August opening.
