Kikoo Sushi's second 1st Avenue outpost is now open

As noted back in the spring, Kikoo Sushi, the all-you-can-eat specialist currently at 141 First Ave. between St. Mark's Place and Ninth Street, was opening a second outpost at No. 210 between 12th Street and 13th Street.

Anyway, that second location is up and running now.

The new restaurant also marks the Great First Avenue Sushi Merger of 2019 as Kumo Sushi is also part of this operation... which means the former Kumo space on the southeast corner of First Avenue at 13th Street is now vacant...

A reliable source told us that Kumo's lease was up ... and that for now, Kikoo will continue on at 141 First Ave.

As for No. 210, that retail space was home to a Papa John's (2010-2018) before the sushi rolled in.

As the sushi rolls on 1st Avenue

As we noted last month, Kikoo Sushi, the all-you-can-eat specialist currently at 141 First Ave. between St. Mark's Place and Ninth Street, was moving up the Avenue ... to the former Papa John's outpost at No. 210 between 12th Street and 13th Street.

Now it looks as if Kikoo will have some company. EVG regular Laura shared this photo from yesterday... Kumo Sushi on the corner of First Avenue at 13th Street is merging with Kikoo at No. 210... this via the signage up at the Kumo space...

So two Sushi restaurants combined in one former chain pizza shop.

As we understand it, Kumo's lease was up ... and for now, we're told that Kikoo will continue on at 141 First Ave.

Kikoo bringing all-you-can-eat sushi to the former Papa John's outpost on 1st Avenue

It appears that Kikoo Sushi is moving on up First Avenue... the all-you-can-eat specialist is currently at 141 First Avenue between St. Mark's Place and Ninth Street.

Steven spotted Kikoo signage in the front window a few blocks to the north at the former Papa John's outpost between 12th Street and 13th Street...

This Papa John's shuttered last fall after nearly eight years in business here.

Kikoo opened at No. 141 in 2015. This move is likely several months out — the interior is still set up as a pizzeria.

As the sushi rolls on 1st Avenue

Sometime in the past week or so, Milosun Sushi closed at 141 First Ave. … quickly giving way to an all-you-can-sushi place called Kikoo, per EVG reader Charlie Chen.

The new restaurant between St. Mark's Place and East Ninth Street hasn't opened yet, though they do have a website:

Our restaurant offers a wide array of fine Japanese fusion cuisine, ranging from traditional Sashimi Lunch, California Roll to new style entrees such as Tempura Udon, Color Dragon and Butterfly Roll.

Previously the place was Ippin, a sushi and noodle bar that lasted about six months here in 2013.
