Coffee and breakfast will live here

Dave on 7th is keeping a watchful eye on 178 E. Seventh St., where Korzo Haus recently left… all we know so far is that it will be a coffee shop with some breakfast foods to go here just west of Avenue B…

The sign on the door for the post office reads "This is where C&B/Coffee and Breakfast LLC Lives."

Something new for the old fortress of East 7th Street

Korzo Haus, the deep-fried burger place on East Seventh Street just west of Avenue B, closed at the end of October.

On Saturday, EVG regular Dave on 7th spotted workers, uh, working on the exterior.

According to one of the workers, here's what's next: "Coffee place, take out. American cuisine."

Whatever the place will be, it appears that the new owners have apparently opted not to keep Korzo's fortress look.

Korzo Haus has closed on East 7th Street

That's it for deep-fried burger specialists Korzo Haus, the small Slovakian-based joint on East Seventh Street just west of Avenue B.

EVG regular Dave on 7th spotted this sign on the restaurant's front door this past weekend...

Per the note on the door: "Thank You for years of your dedicated patronage. Our lease is up and this location is now closed. We are working on a new downtown Manhattan location. In the mean time we really hope you visit us at the original Korzo or Brooklyn Beet Company in Brooklyn."

Korzo Haus opened here in August 2010. The Voice named them the best burger in NYC in 2011.

Korzo Haus now open on Seventh Street

So... that interesting looking place on the right...

opened last night.....

Turns out it's an outpost of the burger place in Park Slope... and their signature burger:

Korzo Burger 10
fresh -ground beef patty, apple smoked organic bacon, Allgäuer Emmentaller cheese, house made mustard, dill pickle– all wrapped in Langoš dough & deep fried.

Here's their menu (PDF).
