The Ludlow getting the inevitable non-fast-food tenant

Well, this isn't really newsy ... BoweryBoogie pointed this out back in December... just kinda wanted it for the record... Anyway, four years after opening, The Ludlow has another retail tenant here on East Houston at Ludlow...

Nail salon! And that name! Petition!

The Ludlow roof used for PETA's nude photo shoot

Last week, you may have read about PETA's latest "Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur" ad that we unveiled in Times Square featuring Bethenny Frankel, who is apparently on "The Real Housewives of New York City."

Anyway, the photo shoot took place atop The Ludlow at Ludlow and Houston, according to PETA.

Perhaps The Ludlow can figure out a way to work this into their marketing materials.

Hmmm...How about:

"Red Square has the first head of state of the Soviet Union...

...but we have Bethenny Frankel!"

If you want, you may watch a behind-the-scenes video of the photo shoot, which also features images of animals getting clubbed to death.

A New View of the Lower East Side (I'll say!)

Meanwhile, the above post made me curious about the 19-story Ludlow Hotel rising on, uh, Ludlow, right behind The Ludlow. (Clever, these names!) What do you do if you forked over money for a space in The Ludlow with nice southern exposures...which will soon be exposed to a 170-room hotel? (And what about The Ludlow's slogan: "A New View of the Lower East Side...")

Curbed had this shot last month:

Haven't seen mention of the new hotel at The Ludlow site.

They should really update their Web site, too. None of the images reflect the new construction going on next door. Seems a little misleading to me...
