The psychic/clairvoyant/chakra balancer who took up board above Rockin' Robin Raj at 114 Third Ave. now has spiffy new awnings and signs. Maybe they're here to stay? If so, then maybe someone wants to take down that "building available" sign.
Joe Jr's shuttered over the weekend. However, you can still enjoy Joe Junior on Third Avenue at 16th Street. I believe both Joe's were once owned by the same family, though the places operated independently.
Here's the latest ad (seen on Third Avenue near 14th Street) for Tempo, the coming-soon condos at 23rd Street and Second Avenue. I'm curious if the Tempo spa will be co-ed. So, if I decided to buy a place here, then I can expect topless models in the spa? Topless models who'll stand there looking as if they'll drop that towel at the first sign of, say, a sweaty municipal bond trader?
EV Grieve reader Empire checks in with these photos. Is this some kind of new public art? Empire notes: "It's parked facing the wrong direction (against traffic, albeit in a proper spot). Then there are stickers on it that say, 'Please, don't take me into a museum' ... and 'Google me, asshole,' which i tried to do, but couldn't make out the letters in the tag."
So Second Avenue is off limits to traffic with the street fair... Meanwhile, on Third Avenue between 13th and 14th Streets...this humungo crane is lifting something up to the roof at 111 Third Ave. And slowing down traffic. And making everyone look cautiously toward the sky.
