Ad for Julia Child movie is oddly erotic

First, though, the latest ad to grace the building on Third Avenue near 12th Street.

And, um. Really? I'll say nothing else, in fear that I will appear in a blurb for the movie...

Speaking of ads...

There's also this new Vans campaign, as seen here on the Westville wall on 11th Street at Avenue A.

I don't really know what this ad is trying to say.

Tempo's cheeky new ad

Here's the latest ad (seen on Third Avenue near 14th Street) for Tempo, the coming-soon condos at 23rd Street and Second Avenue. I'm curious if the Tempo spa will be co-ed. So, if I decided to buy a place here, then I can expect topless models in the spa? Topless models who'll stand there looking as if they'll drop that towel at the first sign of, say, a sweaty municipal bond trader?

Human league

After more than six months, an ad returns to the space above the Sidewalk on Sixth Street and Avenue A....

So, what is this ad for... Pest control? Roach Motels? New reality show starring the Kardashians? No, unfortunately, it's actually for "District 9," an extraterrestrial thriller that's out in theaters Aug. 14.

I'm lovin' it!

The McDonald's ad is getting painted over on First Avenue near Second Street. I'm curious, though, do you suppose in, say 20 years, we'll be excited about the discovery of a faded McDonald's ad?

I looked so you don't have to

Stupid viral ads. These Lucy fliers have seemingly been everywhere on Second Avenue. I finally looked at the advertised url. Fat chance that it's going to be another cutesy, annoying subway romance tail. The fliers are for a new Web series on IFC.

Jack Black ushers in the return of ads to Third Avenue and 12th Street

After a few months of, uh, blankness, an ad has returned to grace the side of the building on Third Avenue near 12th Street...

Is the recession over? Tiffany & Co. is advertising on bus shelters

On Water and Fulton in the Financial District.

Posts that I never got around to posting: That guy in the purple T-shirt

Ever since I saw these ads for Uniqlo on Suffolk and Houston I have nightmares that I'm forced to go out for speciality cocktails with that guy in the purple T-shirt and he takes me to a secret bar that's under another not-so-secret-anymore bar and no one drinks because they are too busy looking to see if Albert Hammond Jr. will show up, who eventually does and is actually really nice, which disappoints people who want to be ignored by a celebrity then we go to an after-hours party and I'm forced to select the music and everyone is watching me so I pick the Crystal Castles and get laughed at because they are so 2008.

Kid A

I enjoyed watching the additions to this ad on the side of East Village Farms on Avenue A near Seventh Street....

Sadly! The kid was papered over with an ad for flavored vodka.

Goodbye yellow brick ad...

After nearly a month, the handpainted Target ad on St. Mark's Place at Avenue A...

is gone...

Meanwhile!
The Target ad was also painted over on Hicks Street in Carroll Gardens (Lost City)

Easy Target left alone

While I don't condone the vandalism of ads... Uh, anyway, I was surprised the new Target ad on St. Mark's and Avenue A made it through the weekend... Pardon the pun, but it's an easy target...
