Ethos Meze East Village is now open on Avenue A

The Mediterranean-themed restaurant quietly opened on July 2 here at 167 Avenue A ... it's an offshoot of Ethos Meze on Third Avenue and East 36th Street.

We don't know much else about the place ... and haven't seen any previews at the food sites...

What we do know is that it took over the space that previously housed neighborhood scourge Diablo Royale Este, which closed at the end of August 2012.

Has anyone tried Ethos Meze East Village?

Stopped in last night for a snack and glass of wine. It was pretty good. They served saganaki traditionally, lighting it on fire at the table, which was cool.

It's absolutely amazing!

Went there with my friends for their Grand Opening last Friday and it was great. The place was packed and everyone seem to be really enjoying themselves, as service and ambience was excellent.

Looking forward to coming back but kind of wish they had a gold carpet (instead of a red carpet) every night! 5 stars for the East Village, for sure.

Tried their lobster scrambled eggs for brunch. My boyfriend had the steak and eggs and another friend the banana chocolate chip pancakes. Entree came with a cocktail for just $15. Can't think of a better or more delicious brunch deal in the area!

I find it to be a hidden gem. The beers on tap are great. The food is awesome.

I went for brunch with some friends and found the food to be great. The entree comes with a complimentary drink. I got the Steak and Eggs and a Peach Moon (Peach Mimosa with Blue Moon) for $15.

Overall, I have come here more times than I should admit. I've tried multiple appetizers, all are good, but the one that I would strongly recommend is the Tenderloin Bruschetta. As for the entree, the Steaks are amazing.

Definitely recommend eating here and grabbing a drink.

I'm reminded of my favorite Greek dish, oven-roasted shill.

Ha ha. To be fair, EVG asked for it.

Heh! That is true! I was hoping at least one person I actually knew would weigh in!

Had dinner here over the weekend and it was excellent. Paella, scallops and Greek wine were top-notch. Will definitely be back.
