The shop, which opened in late 2023, had kept increasingly irregular hours over the past month, including stretches when it was open only on weekends.
The East Village outpost was the chain's second Manhattan location, specializing in baked cheese tarts made with Hokkaido dairy.
As previously reported, this address has seen considerable turnover since Dunkin' Donuts closed in early 2010. Previous tenants have included Meyhane, Medina's Turkish Kitchen, Entrez Bar & Grill, Farfasha, Dinah, Pomodora and Luna Cafe Lounge.
The latest closure adds another name to that lengthy list.

Technically this is a great location! Nice wide sidewalk, across from a "park", at the foot of a pretty building. But this was just too highly specialized. Something more like a nice restaurant would be a better fit.
I walk past this at least weekly, and often wondered how they were still open. Rarely anyone in it. I tried a tart soon after they opened, and was never moved to return. It was ok. Interestingly, I don't remember most of the other places that have been there - most either held no interest for me, or went out of business before I even had a chance
I miss Black Hound !
Aw that's a shame I liked this spot. I can't patronize every bake shop though, ive got the itis. That bakery spot on St.Mark's closed too.
Me too! I loved that place!
