Here's the moment of the break-in early this morning at Alphabet City Beer Co.

As the morning goes on, we're getting a better idea of the extent of last night's break-ins around the East Village. Alphabet City Beer Co., 96 Avenue C between Sixth Street and Seventh Street, was among the victims...



Owner Zack Mack told me the following: "They emptied our registers, took a bunch of iPads, ransacked our office, stole a bunch of security cameras in boxes, a few bottles of beer, and milk and OJ."

They also took money being collected for charity...

They have security footage of the overnight burglary. It starts at 1:46 a.m. They left at 1:55. The police arrived at 1:56.

This clip shows the five people breaking and entering ... each dressed in sweats, masks, gloves and backpacks (there are seven people total in the group as the video shows later) ...



... and later when they empty the cash register...



This team was apparently behind numerous East Village break-ins last night.

Checking in on what's open for takeout and delivery

Updated 4/5: Bobwhite is closing tonight after service.

Recent additions to our list of what's open for takeout and delivery include:

• Bobwhite Lunch and Supper Counter, 94 Avenue C at Sixth Street, is open for takeout and delivery from noon to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. They have an app for ordering either pick-up or delivery.

And right next door...



• Alphabet City Beer Co., 96 Avenue C. They've expanded their grocery items, adding fresh fruits and vegetables and dairy products. Open from noon to 7 p.m.

Alphabet City Beer Co. opens tomorrow

Last week, we pointed out the signage at the coming-soon Alphabet City Beer Co. on Avenue C near East Sixth Street... and the owners passed along more information, which we'll post part of here...

Alphabet City Beer Co. will open its doors on Thursday, 17th to serve the East Village, just two doors down from the current Alphabet City Wine Co. on Avenue C. The store will sell upwards of 350 bottled beers, a dozen draft lines for growlers, and provisions to go as well as have small fare, tasting flights, and pints to eat and drink in a tasting bar and seating area at the rear of the store, which will accommodate approximately 25 people.

Alphabet City Beer Co. (or ABC Beer Co. for short) will carry over 350 domestic craft beers, handcrafted imported beers, and craft cheeses with a sharp focus on good value, customer service and education. Customers will be provided with magazines, newspapers, comfortable chairs, and free WiFi.

The store will be owned and operated by David Hitchner, a co-owner of Alphabet City Wine Co. and In Vino Wine Bar at 215 E 4th St, and local resident Zachary Mack.

The sign is up now for the incoming Alphabet City Beer Co. on Avenue C near East Sixth Street... it's the beer-themed retail outlet (and small bar with tastings and food like cheese, meat and pickles) from David Hitchner of Alphabet City Wine Co. a few storefronts to the south. (He also owns In Vino on East Fourth Street.)

We haven't heard about an opening date just yet... the last word on their Facebook page dated late April: "Getting close."
