OK, so not a real tree... still, we can dream of a _ _ _ _ _ Christmas here on St. Mark's Place between Avenue A and First Avenue.

THIS JUST IN.

Jackflashnyc spotted this outside 97 1/2 E. Seventh St. between Avenue A and First Avenue.

Per Jackflashnyc: "Seems to have a good string of lights, stand and one glass ornament, though needles are getting a bit dry."

Carol from East 5th Street shares this photo... as seen this morning in the East Fifth Street pathway through Village View... a grab-and-go Christmas tree ready to make someone's home a winter wonderland on this hot Saturday in July...

Earlier today, EVG regular Salim spotted this instant Christmas, a table-sized tree, complete with lights, on Avenue A near Ninth Street ... ready to enjoy for the next five months...

Happy Fourth of July weekend!

But before we get to July 4, wishing all of you a Merry July Christmas ... Carol from East 5th Street spotted this pine-fresh beauty today on Fifth Street between Second Avenue and Cooper Square... something to pair with your Hallmark Channel Christmas in July celebration.

An EVG reader shared this photo today from Fourth Avenue between 12th Street and 13th Street... guess this heat is making people do crazy things like discard their perfectly good Christmas tree from last year (or maybe the year before). This one just needs a little water and should be good as new. Likely best for an apartment that doesn't have any smokers.

Getting ready for the Fourth of July holiday... though we're not sure how the Christmas tree ended up wedged in here on Avenue A at 10th Street...

A still-healthy-looking Christmas tree has been discarded on Seventh Street at Avenue B... Boxysean shared the top photo... while Robert Miner passed along these photos...

...including authentification with today's Times...

As you surely know, this is the second Christmas tree to be tossed in the month of July on this block.

One more and it will be a trend, enough for Gruber MacDougal, spokesperson for the International Coalition of Tree Tossing in the Spring and Summer (ICTTSS), to possibly return from Russian where he is "overseeing" the Video Assistant Referee for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Happy holidays, and watch out for the sinkhole

Someone has combined creating a sinkhole warning with offering holiday wishes on Third Street between First Avenue and Second Avenue...

Thanks to the ever-vigilant @salim for the photo!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you go … well, at least on East Seventh Street near Avenue C where the Bride of 7th spotted this beaut — lights intact, bonus.

And extra bonus points for the iPhone authentication.

But the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be
On your own front door.

'Tis definitely the season over on East Fifth Street near Cooper Square! Goggla spotted this beauty today.

Not sure if the owner is discarding it or just letting nature water it...

So. For starters, EV Grieve reader Grant sent this photo along knowing that, perhaps, this tree might not be eligible because a) It's artificial and on Greene Street at Waverly Place (maybe beyond EV Grieve's boundaries?) ... and b) well, there is no b. Regardless, there is the Sunday Times for verification.

It's not up to us to decide these things. So we sent the information to Gruber MacDougal, spokesperson for the International Coalition of Tree Tossing in the Spring and Summer (ICTTSS). Unfortunately, he is at the Anantara Hua Hin Resort & Spa in Thailand for an elephant polo tournament and unavailable for comment.

July 6

Early yesterday evening, Henry Jackson exited the SBS at 14th Street and First Avenue ... where he spied this Christmas tree "unceremoniously dumped in front of StuyTown." He noted that it even had a blue tag at the top like you'd see on the trees sold on street corners.

And, to show its authenticity, an SBS receipt...

When apprised of the discovery, Gruber MacDougal, spokesperson for the International Coalition of Tree Tossing in the Spring and Summer (ICTTSS), gave a thumbs up as he boarded a private flight to Pacaya Samiria Reserve in Peru where he plans to swim with endangered pink Amazon dolphins.

A Christmas in June game changer

To be honest, we were expecting some kind of October surprise this June. And today, on the first official day of summer, we got it.

After an emergency Board of Directors meeting, Gruber MacDougal, spokesperson for the International Coalition of Tree Tossing in the Spring (ICTTS), has announced that the organization has adopted a new name.

Please welcome the International Coalition of Tree Tossing in the Spring and Summer (ICTTSS).

Why did this happen? Sources say that it is because of a tree sighting on the Bowery upstairs at the Sunshine Hotel, first spotted by Goggla back in April. Although it looks to be an artificial tree, ICTTSS officials feared the backlash if this tree got tossed after June 21.

MacDougal, who is in London after unsuccessfully bidding on Picasso's Jeune fille endormie at Christie’s International, wasn't immediately available for comment.

Chipotle under way; X'mas decorations likely not in stock

Looks as if some work has begun on the Chipotle that's coming into the former Rhyme & Reason space on 14th Street and Irving Place.

Of course, workers haven't removed all the old signs just yet.
