Dec. 18
One week before Christmas is a good time to discard last year's tree (or, by the look of things, the tree from 2014)...
Bonus: The lights and stand are intact...
Avenue A and Fourth Street if you want to save your money from buying a fresh tree this season. This one is ready to go.

A wet Christmas forecast
As these photos suggest, late April is a popular time to discard the ol' Christmas/holiday tree... on city sidewalks... and in waterways...
EVG reader Carol spotted this scene yesterday at Stuyvesant Cove. As she notes, "judging by the buoyancy and needle mass, I'd guess it went in recently." Indeed.

Despite having a few more months — give or take a few months — to enjoy the holiday/Christmas tree... someone decided to toss their tree just two months after Christmas Eve... spotted along Third Avenue this evening by EVG reader Sarah12, with bonus points for documenting the date via the Post...Gruber MacDougal, wherever he has been, would be proud.

April 19
Someone yesterday along East 14th Street decided that it was time to toss the xmas tree and the hammock. Two unwanted seasonal items taken care of at one time.
Spotted by James and Karla Murray.

'Tis the season to toss out the tree before Christmas
EVG readers spotted these today… Daniel Root found the above on East Seventh Street between Second Avenue and Cooper Square … and Allen Semanco saw this one below on St. Mark's Place and First Avenue…
Makes sense. SantaCon is over, so might as well toss the ol' Christmas tree…

If it's October, then it might be time to throw away last season's Christmas tree, probably
Dave on 7th spotted the above on East Sixth Street today... what was, most likely, or not, a Christmas (holiday) tree. "The branches are in the bags," Dave on 7th hopefully pointed out.
Fine. But where is the verification/authentification/random -tion word to prove that this is actually from today?
[Boosting the circulation]
OK, fine. But where is the stump and the bags with the remains of the Christmas (holiday) tree? We called him out on this, said something like FAIL, though in a jovial way that may have been misinterpreted via email.
"Actually, not a fail. Note the same car across the street."
OK. Hold all tickets. This might take awhile.
Current record for Christmas (holiday) tree discarding: June 29-30.

July 6
Early yesterday evening, Henry Jackson exited the SBS at 14th Street and First Avenue ... where he spied this Christmas tree "unceremoniously dumped in front of StuyTown." He noted that it even had a blue tag at the top like you'd see on the trees sold on street corners.
And, to show its authenticity, an SBS receipt...
When apprised of the discovery, Gruber MacDougal, spokesperson for the International Coalition of Tree Tossing in the Spring and Summer (ICTTSS), gave a thumbs up as he boarded a private flight to Pacaya Samiria Reserve in Peru where he plans to swim with endangered pink Amazon dolphins.
